WotWots make waves in Korea

Korea’s C4U Entertainment has picked up preschool animated series The WotWots from ABC Commercial, part of Australian pubcaster ABC.

The WotWots,  a series about two aliens who visit Earth, will be broadcast in Korean on C4U’s children’s net Kids 1 from March.

In addition, Korean Distribution Company Kenny & Co has placed the show on local nets Kids Talk Talk and JEI TV.

The WotWots was produced by Pukeko Pictures, a partnership between Richard Taylor, the Oscar-winning co-founder of Weta Workshop, and author, illustrator and children’s TV creator/producer Martin Baynton.

Taylor and Baynton previously teamed up to create kids show Jane and the Dragon.

The WotWots has already been sold into New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the US and the UK, parts of Europe, and has been broadcast across the Arab world by Al Jazeera.
